2023 LMP GENERAL ASSEMBLY

League of Municipalities of the Philippines (LMP) national spokesperson, chapter president of LMP Pangasinan and Lingayen Mayor Leopoldo N. Bataoil together with 19 other Pangasinan Mayors, actively participated in the 1st day of the national assembly of all the municipal mayors in the country held at Manila Hotel today.
Vice-president and Department of Education Secretary Sara Z. Duterte served as the guest of honor and speaker in the event. VP Sara encourages all mayors to activate its local school board and evaluate the needs of their respective local schools which luckily for Lingayen had been a practice since the administration of Mayor Bataoil. She also thanked the mayors for their support in her last election and the support to the administration of his father, former President Rodrigo R. Duterte.
Mayor JB Bernos, LMP national president likewise expressed his gratitude to his fellow mayors with an almost 90% attendance to the annual general assembly this year.
Also present during the event to greet the mayors from Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao were dignitaries like National Security Advisor Hermogenes Esperon, Manila Mayor Honey Lacuna-Pangan, Senators Francis Tolentino and Bong Go, among others.
This year’s theme is “Strengthening Municipal Capabilities Around Autonomy and Fostering Resiliency,” which underscores the challenges and opportunities from the Executive Order 138 or the efficient implementation of the Supreme Court Ruling on the Mandanas-Garcia case. (MIO)
