Healthy Women, Healthy Families, A Stronger Lingayen
Promoting informed choices and healthy practices for mothers and families, the Rural Health Unit III of Lingayen, in partnership with the Pangasinan Medical Society – West Central Chapter, conducted the Mini Buntis Congress at Barangay Rosario, Lingayen, Pangasinan on September 23, 2026.
Led by RHU III Physician Dra. Shayne C. Delos Santos-Borling, the activity brought together 15 mothers for a meaningful maternal health awareness session covering important topics related to pregnancy, maternal care, and family health.
The session featured discussions on immunization, led by Dra. Dorothy Claveria, M.D., and breastfeeding, facilitated by Ms. Sheila Bravo, R.N. The participants were also given practical information on other pregnancy-related concerns, with particular emphasis on the importance of breastfeeding and proper maternal care.
Beyond the learning sessions, the mothers actively participated in a Zumba activity that added energy and enjoyment to the gathering. Each participant also received a Mother Kit as a simple token of support and encouragement in their journey toward healthy motherhood.
The activity was made possible through the participation of the RHU III staff, the DOH Team, and the dedicated Barangay Health Workers (BHWs) who continue to help bring maternal health information and services closer to the community.
Our sincere appreciation goes to the Pangasinan Medical Society – West Central Chapter, the DOH Team, the Barangay Health Workers, and everyone who contributed to the success of this meaningful maternal health initiative.
Guided by the message “Healthy Women, Healthy Families, A Stronger Lingayen,” this initiative reflects the continued commitment of Mayor Josefina “Iday” Castañeda to promoting maternal health, empowering women, and building healthier families and communities.
