LGU LINGAYEN JOINS SIMULTANEOUS EARTHQUAKE DRILL HELD AT PSU LINGAYEN CAMPUS

The local government unit of Lingayen through the Local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (LDRRMO) joins the 3rd quarter National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) initiated by the Office of Civil Defense (OCD) on September 7, 2023 at 2:00 PM.
The drill was participated by students and faculty members of the Pangasinan State University (PSU) Lingayen Campus, LDRRMO personnel, Bureau of Fire Protection Lingayen, Lingayen PNP, MSWDO and medical personnel from the Municipal Health Office.
The drill which was attended by OCD Regional Director Gregory Cayetano reminded the participants to practice the “duck, cover, hold” and aims to reduce casualties should a major earthquake strike the country.
Also present during the NSED were Vice Mayor Dexter Malicdem and Coun. JM Crisostomo representing Mayor Leopoldo N. Bataoil, PDRRMO representing the provincial government and Center for Disaster Preparedness (OCD)
The 1st quarter NSED took place last March 9 with a magnitude 7.2 earthquake as the scenario while the 2nd quarter NSED was conducted on June 8, 2023. (MIO)
