LGU LINGAYEN OBSERVES CIVIL REGISTRATION MONTH
The Municipality of Lingayen, through the Office of the Municipal Civil Registrar in close coordination with the Philippine Statistics Office Provincial Field Office, is celebrating 30th Civil Registration Month 2020 with the theme “Shaping CRVS by Embracing New Trends in the 4th Industrial Revolution (4IR).”
The Civil Registration Month is observed every February, pursuant to Proclamation 682 issued on January 28, 1991 by then President Corazon C. Aquino.
In line with the month-long celebration, there will be a motorcade on February 7 at 7:00 in the morning that will be participated by the Philippine Statistic Authority (Calasiao), Lingayen LGU and all other LGUs in the province. The motorcade will pass all the barangays in the province.
According to Mr. Joan Jude Lopez, Municipal Local Civil Registrar officer, February is not only love month; it is also a civil registration month. This is a significant event because it showcases the permanent vital record of the people, such as birth, marriage and death, as well as court decrees and legal instruments affecting the civil status of an individual.
The municipal local civil registrar emphasizes that it is the duty and responsibility of every resident of this town to register every marriage, birth or death in the family for legal and reference purposes.
The celebration will be highlighted by the much-awaited “Kasalang Bayan” wherein registered 131 applicants as of the moment will simultaneously tie the knot. Other activities that will be conducted by the Lingayen LGU through the office of Municipal Civil Registrar during this period include the free issuance of local birth certificate, marriage certificate and death certificate at the last day of the month, February 28.
