LINGAYEN, KAISA SA PAGDADALAMHATI SA PAGPANAW NI DATING PANGULONG FVR

Inilagay sa half-mast ang bandila ng Pilipinas bilang pagdadalamhati at pakikiramay ng Lokal na Pamahalaan ng Lingayen sa pamilya ng yumao na si dating Pangulo ng Pilipinas Fidel V. Ramos.

Iniutos ito ni Mayor Leopoldo N. Bataoil matapos ang isinagawang flag raising ceremony ngayong araw ng Lunes, Agosto 1, 2022.

Ayon sa alkalde, nararapat lamang na ibigay ang pagpupugay kay Ramos–ang ika-labing dalawang presidente ng Republika ng Pilipinas na isinilang mismo sa bayan ng Lingayen.

“In a very simple but meaningful manner and in commemoration of the death of our former president –a Pangasinense, the 12th President of the Republic of the Philippines, we hereby lower the flag to its half-mast. Let everybody feel the significance of this moment”.

Kinikilala ng LGU Lingayen ang kontribusyon ni FVR at una sa naging aktibidad ng alkalde ay ang pagbisita sa Lingayen Central School na mismong naging paaralan ng yumaong pangulo noong ito’y nasa elementarya taong 1932. 

“Today, I’d like you to know na ang pinaka first activity ko ay nandoon ako sa Lingayen Central School  where FVR attend his first school, Grade 1 up to Grade 7. In that school, our 12th President attended his elementary days  and that was in 1932. Ang ganda ng significance, why because, it is also the first day of Brigada Eskwela nationwide” pahayag ni Mayor Bataoil.

Inanunsyo ang pagpanaw ni Ramos kahapon Hulyo 31, 2022 sa edad na 94. Bago umupo sa puwesto bilang Pangulo ng bansa noong 1992 hanggang 1998 ay nagsilbi muna itong hepe ng Philippine Constabulary mula 1972 hanggang 1986. Hinirang din bilang deputy Chief of Staff ng Armed Forces of the Philippines at nanilbihan rin  bilang Defense Secretary mula 1988 hangang 1991.

Samanatala, hindi naman nakalimutan ni  Mayor Bataoil ang pakikibahagi ng LGU Lingayen sa Brigada Eskwela. Binigyan nang pagpupugay ng alkalde ang mga masisipag na guro na patuloy na nagbababahagi at nagbibigay ambag upang positibong mahubog ang asal at kaalaman ng mga kabataan.

“Madami silang nagawang accomplishment during pandemic. Hindi sila tumigil sa pag aayos at pagpapaganda ng kanilang respective schools and we are very proud of them. Lingayen DepEd is one of the leading educational institutions not only because of the update of their compound but because of their quality of education that they give to our pupils. We have seen how our teachers raise us to what we are today and Lingayen has raised a president, in the person of FVR kaya’t today let us dedicate this to our former president and to the DepEd for a job well done.
