Lingayen Launches 1st Green and Sustainable Waste To-Energy Facility in Pangasinan
The Local Government Unit of Lingayen in partnership with Philippine Globe Energy Development Corporation (PEDECO) and Climate Change Commission launched the Lingayen Waste-to-Energy and Green Technology Facility on September 1, 2023 at the Material Recover Facility (MRF) Compound in Barangay Quibaol in this town.
This innovative machine, first to be launched in the entire province and even Region 1 is designed to withstand high volume of various kinds of waste to address the garbage problem of Lingayen and later on nearby municipalities.
All processed waste will be converted to energy and by-products such as BioFuel and Methane which can be sold in the market.
PEDECO led by its manager partner Maximino Camacho and Climate Change Commission under the leadership of Commissioner Albert Dela Cruz Sr., lauded Mayor Leopoldo N. Bataoil for his swift response to all the requirements needed to transport the said facility to put this project into realization.
Mayor Bataoil thanked everyone who took part in the success of today’s event. He is very positive that this technology will address the growing problem of proper waste disposal not only for Lingayen but the entire province, as he also invited all League of Municipalities of the Philippines (LMP) Member municipalities and its representative in the said launching today.
