MAYOR LEOPOLDO N. BATAOIL’S PRESS STATEMENT ON THE PRESIDENT’S SONA 2021
Indeed, as has been noted, the President’s sixth and last SONA was modest but impactful. It underscored the government’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic and it took us to a memory lane of the past five-year of the administration of Pres. Rodrigo Duterte.
Apparent in the President’s address is the recognition of the adverse effect being brought about by the pandemic. Nonetheless, as we have been doing here in the grassroots, the national government remains adamant in pursuing its programs not only in health but in other sectors.
I want to highlight the portion of his speech citing infrastructure projects in provinces, as we are among the beneficiaries of the same. In fact, quite recently, DOTr Sec. Art Tugade visited our town to inspect the Pangasinan Port Cluster Development Project – two social tourism port projects in our Brgys. Pangapisan and Capandanan. These are transformational initiatives which will surely benefit our people.
Hence, just as the national government, the local government of Lingayen continues to rise even more robust than this pandemic. As well, I reaffirm our commitment to our President’s programs of good governance.
