OCULAR VISIT | LINGAYEN FLOOD-AFFECTED AREAS

The Local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (LDRRMO) Lingayen welcomed Assistant Secretary Laurence E. Mina, Civil Defense Deputy Administrator for Operations, during his ocular visit to the flood-affected barangays of the Municipality of Lingayen.

The visit focused on assessing the current flooding situation, identifying the communities most affected, and understanding the possible root causes and contributing factors of flooding in the municipality.

Among the concerns being looked into are drainage capacity, waterway and river conditions, low-lying communities, siltation, and other factors that may contribute to the accumulation and prolonged presence of floodwaters. Previous assessments have also identified drainage and waterway-related concerns in parts of Lingayen.
The ocular inspection highlights the importance of coordinated assessment, proper flood mitigation measures, and long-term solutions to strengthen the municipality’s resilience against flooding.

The LDRRMO Lingayen remains committed to continuous monitoring, preparedness, response, and coordination with concerned agencies for the safety and protection of every Lingayenian.
