
PBBM GRACES THE 2ND DAY OF THE 2023 LMP GENERAL ASSEMBLY
President Ferdinand “Bongbong” R. Marcos assures the local chief executives that the national government will listen to its concerns particularly on the issue of the Executive Order 138 that directs the full devolution of certain functions of the executive branch to the local government units (LGUs).
PBBM served as the guest of honor and speaker during the 2nd day of the League of the Municipalities of the Philippines (LMP) General Assembly held at the Manila Hotel on February 22, 2023. “You are the experts about your municipality. You are the most aware of the problems… You are also the most aware of the possible solutions, the president said. PBBM also promised to rationalized the functions given to the LGUs and encourage national agencies like the Department of Budget and Management and the Department of Finance to allocate appropriate funding to those devolved functions.
LMP Pangasinan Chapter President and Lingayen Mayor Leopoldo N. Bataoil together with 27 Mayors in the province were among the 94% attendees of the national assembly as announced by LMP National President himself, La Paz, Abra Mayor JB Bernos.
Mayor Bataoil lauds the successful conduct of the national assembly including the commitment of all the working staff, attendees and executive committee headed by Mayor Bernos during the event.
Also present to meet the mayors today were DILG Sec. Benhur Abalos, Finance Sec. Benjamin Diokno and Senators JV Ejercito and Imee Marcos.
Aside from the breakout sessions, various speakers and presentations, the mayors wrapped the event with lots of surprises with raffle draws and reggae-inspired music of one of the most-sought after OPM band in the country, the Brownman Revival. (MIO)
