Solar Powered Irrigation Project To Benefit Local Farmers in Southern Barangays of Lingayen

Another blessing for the Municipality of Lingayen as it inaugurates the Lingayen Solar Powered Irrigation Project (SPIP) at Barangay Wawa today, September 1, 2023.
This project that was funded by the National Irrigation Administration (NIA) started August of last year. It is set to irrigate around 40 hectares of rice land that will benefit local farmers from Brgy. Wawa and other adjacent Southern Barangays
Mayor Leopoldo N. Bataoil expressed his gratitude to the NIA family for giving priority to Lingayen. “This will surely help our “dumaralos” to produce higher yield while saving for fuel expense in irrigating their farm lands”.
SPIS is a communal irrigation system initiated by the Department of Agriculture (DA) to increase the country’s irrigable areas. (MIO)
