Tropical Depression

THE LOW PRESSURE AREA EAST OF VISAYAS DEVELOPED INTO A TROPICAL DEPRESSION.
➣ Location of Center (4:00 AM):
The center of the Tropical Depression was estimated based on all available data at 2,085 km East of Eastern Visayas (OUTSIDE PAR).
➣ Intensity:
Maximum sustained winds of 55 km/h near the center, gustiness of up to 70 km/h, and central pressure of 1004 hPa.
➣ Present Movement:
Westward at 15 km/h
➣ Extent of Tropical Cyclone Winds:
Strong winds extend outwards up to 280 km from the center
GENERAL OUTLOOK FOR THE FORECAST PERIOD
• The tropical depression is forecast to move generally west northwestward and will enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) between tomorrow (20 June) evening and Sunday (21 June) morning. Once inside the PAR, the tropical cyclone will be given a local name FRANCISCO. While moving over the Philippine Sea, it will turn north northwestward by Wednesday (24 June) towards southern Japan.
