“You think you can beat me?” “Game on!”
October 20, 2025
A thrilling match unfolded at the Lingayen Municipal Public Library as Mr. Sebastian Martin Selby, an Englishman visiting from England, faced off against our regular client, Mr. Ramon Untalan, in a friendly yet intense game of chess. While not everyone plays chess, this timeless game is dominated by men–continues to challenge minds across generations and cultures. Chess sharpens analytical thinking, improves memory, boosts concentration, and fosters creativity, patience, and resilience. At LMPL, we celebrate not just the love of books, but also the love of learning — and sometimes, that learning comes in the form of a checkmate.
